Kherson shipyard Smart Maritime Group (shipbuilding business of Smart-holding Group people's Deputy of Ukraine Vadim Novinsky) performs a deep modernization of the cargo vessel "Gelius 1" (the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis). The modernization of the ship's length will be increased to 115.2 metres. The value of the contract according to the press service of Smart-Holding 25 million.
To make insertion length 25,35 meters will be used about 400 tons of high-strength shipbuilding steel. The works will form a new cylindrical insert, raised coamings of holds. Also the specialists of the shipyard will hold the color of the shell plating and the cargo holds of the ship will lay new piping system and install new covers of hatches.
Upgrade, running the project of Maritime engineering Bureau (Odessa), will significantly improve technical and economic characteristics of the vessel – it will become 2 bilge with the increase in deadweight of 45% - 3 640 5 up to 250 tons.
to Complete the upgrade and transfer the ship to the customer presumably is planned for October of this year.

Vessel "Gelius 1" (project 003RSD04/ALB02, type "Kaspian Express") was built at the shipyard Ceksan, Tuzla (Turkey) in 2007. The original design dimensions of the vessel: 89.95 x 15.87 meters, the height of 5.75 m, deadweight 3 640 tons.
