The technological capabilities of the Novokramatorsk Machine-Building Plant are well known both in Ukraine and far beyond its borders. Continuous improvement of all processes, including technical re-equipment, is the basis of the company's development strategy. So, in 2022, the machine park of NKMZ will be replenished with a unique portal machining center of the PowerTec 9000 AG model manufactured by the German company Waldrich Coburg. It will become the largest representative of metal-cutting equipment at the enterprise, providing processing of parts with a maximum diameter of 14m. The contract for its supply was signed literally on the eve of the New Year holidays.
From a number of world-famous manufacturers of metal-cutting equipment, which presented their technical and commercial proposals to NKMZ, the Novokramatorsk employees preferred Waldrich Coburg. Four processing centers produced by this company are successfully operated at the enterprise. Among them is the portal center of the PowerTec 7500 AG model, which was put into operation in 2012 in the mechanical assembly shop No. 8. Today this center is the largest at NKMZ - the maximum diameter of gear rims processed at it is 12 m. In addition, in terms of technological capabilities and original design solutions, today it is unique on a global scale.
But this will remain so until the commissioning of its "younger brother" - the possibilities of the new center will be even wider!
The main design feature of this center will be a special spindle head for machining teeth by single division and rolling.
The PowerTec 9000 AG gantry machining center is planned to be equipped with a Siemens Sinumerik 840Dsl numerical control system, it will have two independent working tables: a faceplate with a diameter of 8000mm, with a lifting capacity of 400t and a milling table with a size of 8000x13000mm, with a lifting capacity of 25t /m2.
The center is equipped with an automatic system for changing spindle heads, tool holders and tools with an extended platform for changing in Pick-up mode at any gantry position, as well as a Renishaw part measuring system, including gear measuring cycles. The operator's cabin will move along the portal frame. It will also be equipped with automatic chip removal by means of a conveyor system.
At the moment, Waldrich Coburg specialists have begun to develop the final design documentation for its manufacture.
