According to the updated data of the association of enterprises "Ukrmetallurgprom", in January-February 2021, metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine produced:
- agglomerate - 5.31 million tons (104.0% versus January-February 2020);
- gross coke (6% wet) - 1.60 million tons (99.9%);
- pig iron - 3.51 million tons (104.5%);
- steel - 3.51 million tons (98.9%);
- rolled products - 3.15 million tons (100.3%);
- pipe products - 0.123 million tons (89.6%).
As of March 11, 2021, of the main operating production facilities, 17 out of 21 blast furnaces, 7 out of 8 open-hearth furnaces, 14 out of 16 converters, 5 out of 15 electric furnaces and 16 out of 17 continuous casting machines are in operation.
The association also reported that the export of iron ore from Ukraine in January-February 2021 amounted to 7.09 million tons (98.0% compared to the same period in 2020), the share of imported coals in the total supply amounted to 70.9% , the share of imported coke in the total supply for two months of 2021 amounted to 2.13%.
In January-February 2021, according to Ukrmetallurgprom, the country procured 596 thousand tons of scrap metal (146.1% against the same period in 2020), of which 566 thousand tons (142.6% against January -February 2020) delivered to Ukrainian consumers as imported. Exports of scrap metal in January-February 2021 amounted to 30 thousand tons (273% compared to the same period in 2020).
