The Trade Union of Metallurgists and Miners of Ukraine, together with the Federation of Metallurgists of Ukraine, strongly opposed the increase in tariffs for the carriage of goods by rail. This is stated in open the letter of the leaders of the trade union and federation Oleg Ryabko and Sergei Belenky.
They analyzed the situation and economically substantiated their vision of the consequences of this "dubious initiative of the authorities." According to the leaders of the trade union and the federation of metallurgists, such a rapid increase in tariffs will lead to disastrous consequences for entire industries and will have a negative impact on the economic situation of the state. And if this order comes into force, leading Ukrainian exporters will significantly worsen their competitive positions in sales markets, the cost of construction and prices for residential and commercial real estate will increase, the cost of energy resources, prices and tariffs for housing and communal services will increase, and another reorientation of goods will take place. vehicles and the destruction of roads, partially restored by the program of the President of Ukraine "Big Construction", will continue.
"We ask you to recommend to the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine to withdraw the Draft Order" On Amending the Coefficients Applied to the Tariffs of the Collection of Tariffs for the Carriage of Goods by Rail within Ukraine and Related Services "as something that is not economically justified and will have extremely negative consequences for the economy since 2022, ”the appeal says.
